Intelligence Science and Technology

Introduction to the subject of intelligence science and technology

Established in 2004, the subject of intelligence science and technology in Nankai University plays a leading role for the higher education in China. Nankai University is one of the first four universities which established the same subject. The subject is dedicated to developing the theory and application of intelligent methods, and advancing the intelligence of the robotic systems. In the following two years, both the curriculum system and the experimental condition were well developed and refined. The students were then enrolled and cultivated in the subject since 2006. Over the past 15 years, brilliant students have graduated and served in the field of intelligence science and technology in China and worldwide.

In terms of professional talent training, the subject attaches great importance to the innovation, creativity and practical ability of our students, and highlights the advantages of practical courses, experiment conditions and innovation-oriented education model. Over the last few years, there were many excellent achievements, such as the first prize in the 15th Challenge Cup National College Student Scientific and Technological Work Competition, the 11th China Adolescents Science&Technology Innovation prize, the grand prize in Tianjin Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Group, and the first prize in Tianjin Teaching Achievement. What’s more, several  high level laboratories with distinctive professional features have been founded in the subject, and a talent cultivating system has been developed based on deep integration of the professional theoretical knowledge and the science and technology innovation practice. These outstanding achievements have been reported on the Computer Education (a core journal under the supervision of Ministry of Education of China), and promoted at the national education academic seminar on intelligence science and technology.
