Ning Sun, born in 1988, is currently a Professor of Nankai University and an IEEE Senior Member. He was awarded the prestigious Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (Standard), the Hundred Young Academic Leaders Program of Nankai University, and many provincial/institute level talents/honorary titles. He received the B.S. degree in measurement & control technology and instruments (with honors) from Wuhan University in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering (with honors) from Nankai University in 2014, under the supervision of Prof. Yongchun Fang.

His research interests include intelligent control and applications for underactuated robots (cranes, etc.), pneumatic artificial muscle robots, industrial robots, etc., with a focus on the combination of theory and practice.

Research interests: (1) Underactuated robots (cranes, etc.); (2) Pneumatic artificial muscle robots; (3) Industrial robots; (4) Intelligent control and applications.
