NKU News Network (reported by correspondent Zhou Lu) On November 26 and 27, the 27th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice (M2VIP 2021) was held online. Organized by Shanghai Jiaotong University and the State Key Laboratory of Mechanical System and Vibration, this conference aims to provide an international and interdisciplinary forum for the research community of mechatronics and machine vision to explore the S&T frontiers in the fields of intelligent actuators, intelligent sensors, intelligent machines and advanced robots. There are two academic awards in this conference, namely, the Best Paper Award and the Best Student Paper Award. The paper Continuous Estimation of Knee Angles from Decomposition of Single Channel Surface Electromyography Signals, co-authored by doctoral student Zhang Song, Professor Zhang Juanjuan and Professor Han Jianda of the Medical and Auxiliary Robot Team of the College of Artificial Intelligence, NKU, won the Best Paper Award.

Motion intention recognition based on sEMG signals is widely used in medical rehabilitation robots, commercial prostheses, medical diagnosis and other fields. In motion intention recognition based on sEMG signals, a single channel sEMG sensor can simplify the system and reduce the recognition delay, but its recognition accuracy is low. In order to improve the recognition accuracy, a state space model method based on single channel sEMG decomposition is proposed in this paper, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the continuous motion estimation experiment of knee joint based on single channel sEMG signals.
